Zhang Yingwei is now head of the Discipline Inspection Group sent to CASS by the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and a member of the leading Party members’ group of CASS. He is a native of Tu Quan County, Inner Mongolia.
Zhang became a member of the CPC in December 1973, and began his career in August 1974. He received a postgraduate certificate at the Party School of the CPC Central Committee.

April 1988 -- July 2003 Worked in the Publicity Department of the Party Committee of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, as deputy director of the General Office of the Society of Ideological and Political Work, deputy director and then director of the General Office of the Commission for Cultural and Ethical Progress, vice minister of the Publicity Department and deputy director of the Office for Cultural and Ethical Progress;
July 2003 -- July 2004 Deputy secretary-general of the Chinese Society of Ideological and Political Work;
July 2004 -- September 2009 Deputy chief of the Juveniles Branch, head of the Secretariat Office, and then chief of the Juveniles Branch in the Office of the Central Commission for Guiding Cultural and Ethical Progress of the Communist Party of China;
October 2009 -- October 2013 Deputy director of the General Office and concurrently director of the Service Center for the Organs under the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, and deputy secretary-general and concurrently executive vice president and Party Secretary of the National Publicity Cadre Institute；
October 9. 2013 -- the present: Served at Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
