The Creative Economy Report 2013 Special Edition (Chinese version) was released on June 4 in Beijing. The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) was appointed for the third time by UNESCO to undertake translation of the Chinese version. CASS secretary-general Gao Xiang attended a press conference and delivered a speech outlining the report, which found the influence of the creative economy has spread far beyond the economic sphere. It affects how people understand the world, position themselves in the society and identify human rights, said Gao.
