Organized by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), the seminar commemorating the 40th anniversary of the China-Japan Treaty of Peace and Friendship was held in Beijing on Aug. 11.
Former Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo attended the conference and delivered the opening address. CASS President Xie Fuzhan and former Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama attended the opening ceremony and respectively made keynote speeches. Vice-president of CASS Cai Fang presided over the opening ceremony.
