Qu Tongzu, male, Han nationality, born in July, 1910, is a native of Changsha, Hunan Province and a nonparty member. In 1936, he graduated from the department of sociology at Peking University as a postgraduate. He is a researcher and PhD student advisor with the Institute of Modern History at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He is also the director of Chinese Sociology. His academic expertise is Chinese social and legal history. Since 1990, he has enjoyed a special allowance awarded by the State Council.
