Qian Zhongwen, male, Han nationality, born in December, 1932, is a native of Wuxi, Jiangsu Province and a member of the Communist Party of China. In July, 1959, he became an undergraduate student in the department of Russian at the Moscow State University as a postgraduate student. He is a researcher with the Institute of Literature at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and PhD student advisor. He was a member and convener of the review group of Chinese language and literature subjects at the Academic Degree Commission of the State Council and chief editor of Literature Review. His academic expertise is literature theory and Russian literature. Since 1991 he has enjoyed a special allowance awarded by the State Council.
