Guo Songyi, male, Han nationality, born in December, 1935, is a native of Shangyu, Zhejiang Province and a nonparty member. In July, 1953, he graduated from the department of history at Peking University as a graduate student. He is a researcher and PhD student advisor with the Institute of Chinese History at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. His academic expertise is Chinese social and Qing dynasty history. Since 1992 he has enjoyed a special allowance awarded by the State Council.
