Chen Yupi, male, Han nationality, born in February, 1930, is a native of Wuhan, Hubei Province and a nonparty member. In 1959, he graduated from the department of Russian at the Graduate School of the Moscow State University and became a postgraduate student. He is a researcher and PhD student advisor to the Institute of Literature at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, consultant to the Society of “A Dream of Red Mansions”. His academic expertise is ancient Chinese literature. Since 1992 he has enjoy ed a special allowance awarded by the State Council.
