Chen Yunquan, male, Han nationality, born in September, 1935, is a native of Haining, Zhejiang Province and a member of the Communist Party of China. In July, 1959, he graduated from the department of philosophy at the Moscow State University as a graduate student. He is a compiler with the Institute of Philosophy at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and leader of the Philosophical Subjects Appraisal Group of the National Social Science Fund. His academic expertise is Marxist philosophy and cultural philosophy. Since 1991 he has enjoyed a special allowance awarded by the State Council.
