Chen Dongsheng, male, Han nationality, born in October, 1953, is a native of Yingcheng, Hubei Province and a member of the Communist Party of China. In 1955, he graduated from the department of industrial economics at the Dongbei University of Finance and Economics as a graduate student. He is a researcher and PhD student advisor with the Institute of Industrial Economics at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He is also vice-president of the China Regional Economies Academic Society. His academic expertise is the regional economy and industrial layout. Since 1991 he has enjoyed a special allowance awarded by the State Council.
