Chen Shen, male, Han nationality, born in 1921, is a native of Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province and a nonparty member. In 1950, he graduated from the department of Russian at Peking University as a graduate student. He is a researcher and PhD student advisor with the Institute of Foreign Literature at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. His academic expertise is Soviet literature. Since 1991 he has enjoyed a special allowance awarded by the State Council.
