Zhang Zhenkun, male, Han nationality, born in May, 1926, is a native of Zhengding, Hebei Province and a nonparty member. In 1952, he graduated from the department of politics at Peking University as a graduate student. He is a researcher with the Institute of Modern History at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. His academic expertise is the history of Chinese contemporary foreign relations. Since 1992 he has enjoyed a special allowance awarded by the State Council.
