Zhang Jiong, male, Han nationality, born in November, 1933, is a native of Shanghai and a member of the Communist Party of China. In July, 1960, he graduated from the department of Chinese at Peking University as a bachelor. He is a researcher with the Institute of Literature at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Chief Editor of Zuopin Yu Zhengming, President at the Chinese Literature Correspondence University, Director of the Institute of Literature at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Institute of Ethnic Literature at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Chief Editor and president of the Literature Review magazine company, President of the Chinese Association of Contemporary Literature, and Honorary president of the China World Association for Chinese Literature. His academic expertise is literature history, literature criticism theory and contemporary literature. Since 1992 he has enjoyed a special allowance awarded by the State Council.
