Wu Yuanmai, male, Han nationality, born in January, 1934, is a native of She County, Anhui Province and a member of the Communist Party of China. In 1960, he graduated from the department of Chinese language at the Saint Petersburg State University as a graduate student. He is a researcher and PhD student advisor with the Institute of Foreign Literature at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, President of National Marxist-Leninist Theory Research, Vice-president of the Institute of Socialist Literature and art in China, Academic consultant to the China Society of Chinese and Foreign Literatur, review group leader at the Literature Division of the National Social Science Research Fund. His academic expertise is Soviet literature, and literature theory. In 1986, he won the “Young and Mid-aged Expert for Outstanding Contributions” Award. Since 1991 he has enjoyed a special allowance awarded by the State Council.
