Yu Shengwu, male, Han nationality, born in May, 1926, is a native of Suzhou, Jiangsu Province and a member of the Communist Party of China. In 1952, he graduated from department at Tsing Hua University as a graduate student. He is a researcher and PhD student advisor at the Institute of Modern History of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He is honorary president of the Institute of Sino-Russian Relations History. His academic expertise is the history of modern Chinese foreign relations. Since 1991, he has enjoyed a special allowance awarded by the State Council.
