Yu Zuyao, male and from the Han ethnic group, born in January 1933, is a native of Tianchang, Anhui Province and a member of the Communist Party of China. In 1958, he graduated from the department of economics of Renmin University of China as a postgraduate student. In 1978, he was transferred to the Institute of Economics of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and successively held the posts of vice-director of the research center, vice-director of the institute and vice-secretary of the Party Committee of the institute, researcher and PhD student advisor of the Institute of Economics of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and honorary president of the China Society of Socialist Economics Law. His academic expertise is political economics. Since 1992, he has started to enjoy a special allowance awarded by the State Council.
