·Wei Daoru
Wei Daoru, male, born on the 15th of October 1955, is a native of Jing County, Hebei Province. In December 1981, he graduated from the department of history of Northwest University as a postgraduate. From January 1985 to September 1987, he taught at the department of history of Northwest University. In June 1990, he graduated from the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and achieved a doctor’s degree in philosophy. From 1990 until now, he worked in the Institute of World Religion of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. In August 1992, he became an associated researcher and turned into a researcher in August 1998. From 1999 to 2000, he visited the University of Hawaii for further research studies. Since June 2002, he has enjoyed a special allowance awarded by the State Council. In September 2002, he was recruited as a PhD student advisor of the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. In March 2011, he was elected as a Member of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Currently, he is a researcher and PhD student advisor of the Institute of World Religion of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and director of the Buddhism Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
