Li Wenjun, born in 1930, is a native of Zhonshan, Guangdong Province and a famous translator. In 1952, he graduated from the department of journalism of Fudan University. He has served successively as the associate editor, editor, chief editor and vice-compiler and compiler of Rendition and World Literature. He is the vice-president of the Translators’ Association of China, a member of the International Culture Exchange Committee of the Association of Chinese Writers, and an academic member of the Institute of Foreign Literature of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. In the 1950s, he begun to publish his works. In 1979, he joined the Association of Chinese Writers.
