Beijing, March 28 (Xinhua) – The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences held a ceremony on the 28th of March, to mark the beginning of studies for the first batch of 100 PhD candidates majoring in Marxist theory. Liu Qibao, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the CPC Publicity Department, attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. In his speech, Liu emphasized the need to create a team of Marxist theorists by forming a group of high-calibre researchers who have majored in Marxist theory, and can provide powerful support for the Party, its ideological and theoretical foundation and overall national development.
