Two weeks ago, Guangming Daily Press revealed its list of China’s top 10 think tanks and top 10 think tank researchers in 2016. The Institute of World Economics and Politics under the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), the National Institute of International Strategy under CASS, the National Academy of Development and Strategy under Renmin University of China and seven other think tanks were ranked among the top 10 think tanks of China in 2016. Li Yang, chairman of the National Institution for Finance and Development (NIFD); Cai Fang, vice-president of the CASS, and eight other scholars were selected as China’s top 10 researchers of think tanks in 2016. The selection this year emphasizes the influence of think tanks and individual studies on policymaking, society as well as international and academic community.
