CASS launches evaluation center for humanities and social sciences
Author:Deng Zhimei Source: Chinese Social Sciences Net 2014-09-04The Chinese Evaluation Center for Humanities and Social Sciences (CECHSS) held its opening ceremony at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) in Beijing on September 3. CASS President Wang Weiguang, Vice-President Zhao Shengxuan and Secretary General and Director of CECHSS Gao Xiang attended the ceremony.
The CECHSS is committed to building an authoritative evaluation system for Chinese philosophy and social sciences, taking the high ground and gaining control of discourse power in the field.
The center consists of the Department of Comprehensive Services, Department for Organizational (Think Tank) Evaluation, Department for Journal and Research Result Evaluation, Department of Evaluation Date, and the Editorial Department of the Evaluation Report on Chinese Social Sciences.
Five tasks have been stipulated for this year, including holding the “First National Forum on Social Sciences Evaluation,” releasing the Global Evaluation Report on Core Think Tanks, and publishing the Chinese Evaluation Report on Journals of Humanities and Social Sciences.
