Born in October 1963, Gao Xiang (male and of the Han ethnic group) is a research fellow and doctoral supervisor with a PhD in history. As a member of the Communist Party of China (CPC), he is now a member of the 20th CPC Central Committee, and president of CASS and secretary of the leading Party members’ group at CASS. He concurrently serves as director of the Chinese Academy of History (CAH) under CASS, and secretary of the Party Committee of the CAH.
