Born in October 1963, Gao Xiang (male, Han ethnicity) is a research fellow and doctoral supervisor with a Ph.D. in history. As a member of the Communist Party of China (CPC), he is now a member of the 20th CPC Central Committee, president of CASS and secretary of the leading Party members’ group at CASS. He also serves as director of the Chinese Academy of History (CAH) under CASS, and secretary of the Party Committee of the CAH.
